Synergy Chiropractic

Holistic Wellness begins with alignment of the mind, body, and soul.

Chi·ro·prac·tic

Stemming from the Greek phrase “done by hand,” Chiropractic centers around the principle that the body is capable of healing itself when the skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems are properly aligned. Synergy Chiropractic is a patient-oriented practice that is dedicated to helping you find that harmony not only in your body, but also in your life. Through hands-on treatment we can work synergistically to find the balance between the physical health of your muscles, and the cognitive and emotional health of your mind.

Where Synergy Started

Synergy Chiropractic has taken on quite a few different faces since Marie graduated from Palmer West College of Chiropractic in 1996. After an internship at the Water Street Medical Complex, she became an associate doctor at Sports and Family Chiropractic on Ocean View Avenue.

In collaboration with a close friend and fellow Palmer West graduate, she branched out from the established enterprise and together they opened the first Synergy Chiropractic clinic. The practice flourished, and as they learned to manage the office, staff schedules, and a growing client base, they raised their two daughters side by side.

While managing two full-time lives, Marie was offered the opportunity to join Santa Cruz Integrative Medicine and Chi Center. Going their separate ways amicably, Marie transitioned to an inclusive practice of medical doctors, acupuncturists, and naturopaths while her partner continued her own practice.

After four years, Marie and two other doctors reformed the business to create a new partnership, and Santa Cruz Integrative Medicine opened new office doors on Front St. Downtown. This was a tipping point for Marie’s career, and after years of developing a strong relationship with regular clients and quickly adding new ones, she became one of the top Chiropractic doctors in the area.

Ever evolving with the changing landscape of healthcare, Marie studied alternative therapies alongside intelligent, successful, and open-minded women--and when it was time to once again step out of the established enterprise and into her own home clinic, she had an amazing foundation of knowledge and experience behind her.

Now, she welcomes you to join the renewed Synergy Chiropractic with open arms, healing hands, and a beautiful Walnut St. clinic with her partner Maureen Vargas, Lac.

Meet Marie

Marie Royer, DC

Marie Royer has been practicing chiropractic for over 25 years. She’s worked alongside the brightest minds in the medical and alternative therapy fields, and has recently transitioned to a partnership with Momo Acupuncture in downtown Santa Cruz.

“Her knowledge of muscles, bones and joints and alignment is changing my life - making me more knowledgeable about my body and smarter about how I move it. Above all, though, she is just the most delightful person. I know when I am coming in, she will meet me with warmth, compassion, kindness, and a great sense of humor.”
